This week we are reviewing “Forgotten in Death,” Book #53 in the “In Death” series by J.D. Robb, and our impressions of this book are mixed. Jen and Tara liked the book a lot, and AJ thought it was good but not great. BUT…admittedly, AJ likes the more “action packed” books, and “Forgotten in Death” is more of an emotional journey.
We talk about how we think there are some markers in recent books (including this one) that might indicate that Nora might have an “end game” in mind for this series, and it slowly starting to tie up some things.
A lot of this book had Eve very introspective. There’s a lot of good Peabody moments and some great Eve and Roarke “married” moments.
We think this book is VERY 2020 in that there is an underlying theme the patriarchy treating women like trash, and punishing powerful people who are using their power to destroy others.
Also, we think that when Eve and Roarke get to be Yuri and Marta Bardov’s age, they will be horny old people.
Also…Does Nora listen to our podcast?? Probably not, but we want to believe she is.
